Architecture.

                                                                                     It's about balance.

Balance in architecture doesn't necessarily mean "equal", because great architecture can also be found in the disorder and or the juxtaposing of spaces.  For me - there is a quiet equilibrium that shines through when a design I'm working through becomes complete.  There are so many factors that need to be addressed in order to create great architecture.  All of them hold equal importance:  the interaction between positive and negative space; the lightness or the darkness a design creates; timeless beauty and aesthetic value; form, function, volume and color; the melding of indoor and outdoor areas; the hierarchy of shapes and objects and the placement of simple yet essential spaces.  And of course, how they all relate to each other.
